To crop a screenshot on a Mac, you have a few options:
Using Preview: This is the built-in image viewer and editor. Open your screenshot in Preview. Click on the "Show Markup Toolbar" button (looks like a toolbox). Then, select the rectangular selection tool, drag a rectangle around the area you want to keep, and then press Command+K (or go to "Tools" -> "Crop"). This method is great for simple, precise crops. Using the Screenshot App (Shift-Command-5): This tool offers some on-the-fly cropping options. After taking a screenshot using Shift-Command-5
, a thumbnail preview appears in the corner of your screen. If you click the thumbnail, it opens in a Quick Look window. While you can't technically crop in this Quick Look window, you can mark it up using the markup toolbar, which includes a selection tool which will essentially act like a crop tool when you save or share your marked up screenshot. Using Photos App: You can also import your screenshot into the Photos app. In Photos, double-click the image and click "Edit". Select the "Crop" tool, and adjust the crop box. Link: https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Photos%20app
In all methods, once you've cropped the screenshot, be sure to save the changes (usually by pressing Command+S or going to "File" -> "Save").
